FAQ

Where did the inspiration for this story come from? DH

Thanks DH for asking the question. I will say that the inspiration came from watching the DVD from the Gold Album. I really hadn’t been a fan of the Carpenters per se. They were my vintage and I did appreciate their music. I really didn’t know what happened to Karen until I saw that DVD in the nail salon, the same one I used in the book. Shortly after I watched the entire DVD I got this urge to do some research about her. From that point on I feel Karen Carpenter, or her persona and spirit inspired the story. The song “Leave Yesterday Behind,” actually told the story, in my mind. So for whatever it’s worth, like I said in my dedication, Thank You Karen Carpenter.
